8101 MP3 Player/Recorder

As digital delivery becomes increasingly important for today’s curriculum, the role of podcasting and

the creation of audio files have become central for students in acquiring language skills. From assisting

beginning readers with early fluency to a group of ELL & ELD students listening to an audio book,

students are able to participate in new ways that inspire learning. The Califone MP3 player/recorder is

ideal for nurturing active language learning & reading skills, working with at-risk and struggling readers

and listening to recorded books and music.

Some educators may not have tried teaching using digital audio files, so to introduce the idea

we have partnered with Twin Sisters Productions (the leader in children’s educational audio) to

support the interconnectedness of educational content and cutting edge technology. We have

preloaded our MP3 player/recorder with 4 CDs of their teacher-tested songs, rhymes, and vocal

exercises that reinforce essential vowel and consonant skills with fun, daily speech practice.

Our MP3 player/recorder comes with a built-in microphone for lots of uses; students can create

their own podcasts, a speech pathologist can track a student’s progress, or a teacher can record

audio notes to email to parents. Since hearing safety is so important, the built-in Sentinel

™

technology

restricts the volume playback level to 85dB. This is an easy and fun way to put students on the

fast track to success.
